Mushrooms

If you include moulds and yeasts, there are estimated to be, worldwide at least 40,000 species of mushrooms. Growing underground the fungus is the main body and mushrooms are the fruit of that body, just as an apple is the fruit of the apple tree. Fungus extracts sugars from other plants, due to their inability to convert them, hence the relationship between the mushrooms and the forests.
